U r no doubt right that the people in the former USSR love reading and learning (languages). So, there shouldn't be any disappointment on that matter. In Russia, Turkish is studied at universities as well as the Ottoman state and culture, but only for specific purposes. What I ment by the expression "hedef kitle Turkce bimiyor" i.e. "the target audience does not speak Turkish" or something alike, was that people who read your stories can not use Turkish well enough to understand them. Most of the readers know Turkish only at the level of "tesekkur ederim", "merhaba" etc. Moreover, Turkish jokes are, I think, a special case, it is difficult to undestand them without knowing the Turkish culture.
